I hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying a wonderful spring season. As we gear up for the week ahead, here are some important updates and reminders for our school community:

  • NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY: Just a reminder: No school on Monday, April 22. Have a fun-filled extended weekend ahead!
  • SEEKING FEEDBACK FROM MOMC FAMILY NIGHT EVENT: Thank you for joining us at MoMC SEW Family Night. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did hosting your families. We aim to provide more such events in the future, and your feedback is valuable to our planning. Kindly take a moment to share your thoughts on the night. Your time and input are greatly appreciated.   • STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR SY 24-25: The registration window is now open. Parents should complete a re-registration for each currently enrolled student as soon as possible. During re-registration, parents must indicate whether their student will withdraw or return for the upcoming school year. Parents can complete re-registration at https://www.dodea.edu/registration.
  • UNIVERSAL PREKINDERGARTEN:  We are excited to announce that Rota ES will implement Universal Prekindergarten for 2024/2025. This program is open to students four years of age by September 1. To learn more about Universal Prekindergarten and check eligibility criteria, please visit DoDEA's website at https://www.dodea.edu/education/universal-prekindergarten-program. Parents can start enrolling their child in Universal Prekindergarten by visiting https://dodeasis.myfollett.com/aspen/logon.do. 
  • S.T.E.A.M EXPO:  Our 4th annual STEAM Expo is around the corner, and we're looking for presenters to dazzle our families with innovative STEAM activities. The expo will be on Wednesday, May 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. If you're passionate about sharing your STEAM project, please contact Ms. Danielle Strutton at danielle.strutton@dodea.edu.
  • ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN HERITAGE CONTEST: We're inviting K-5th graders to celebrate by participating in grade-level contests - create a country flag (K-1st), a homemade lantern (2nd-3rd) or an origami picture (4th-5th). Prizes include NEX Gift Cards and books! Submit entries to Ms. Cuba in Room 143 by May 2. 
  • MAY MUSIC CONCERTS: Get ready because the 2024 Spring Concert Season at D.G.F. Elementary School is finally here! Our talented students are thrilled to showcase the musical skills they've been honing all year in the music classroom. 🎻🎤 Don't forget to mark your calendars for these upcoming performance dates.

  • MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT:  During stressful periods, it's important to remember that our Mental Health Roadmap offers resources and support for both you and your child. Additional support is available through F.F.S.C. Virtual Counseling. Please refer to the attached flyers for further details. We are here to assist you, so please feel free to contact us if you need help.
