I hope you had a pleasant extended weekend with your family and are ready for the exciting week ahead. I encourage our parents to participate in this week's Q3 SAC meeting and especially join us for the Parent Interviews on Wednesday in the MPB for our school's accreditation visit. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding this week's events or any future ones.
- SCHOOL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (SAC) MEETING: We invite you to join us for our upcoming School Advisory Committee (SAC) Q3 meeting on Tuesday, February 20th, at 3:15 p.m. Your input is invaluable to us, and you can choose to participate in person at the elementary school's library or virtually. - PARENT INTERVIEWS: We are hosting an Engagement Review Team from Cognia, an international accreditation agency, on February 21st and February 23rd. Parents are encouraged to participate in a 30-minute meeting with the Cognia team on Wednesday, February 21st, at 4:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Building (MPB) at the Rota School complex.
- SCHOOL PICTURES: Get ready to say "Cheese!" Spring photos are scheduled for the week of February 26th. Please refer to the specific dates for each grade level as outlined in the newsletter to ensure your child's photo is taken on the designated day.
- READ ACROSS DODEA:Â Mark your calendars for the week of March 4th-8th, as Read Across DoDEA is just around the corner. In addition to the scheduled spirit days, students will be engaged in a variety of events designed to highlight the joy of reading. For details on the spirit days planned for that week, please refer to the attached flyer.
- PURPLE UP! CELEBRATION EVENT:Â In honor of the Month of the Military Child, Rota Elementary School is excited to host an evening of fun for students and their parents on April 17th, starting at 4:45 p.m. The evening will kick off with a complimentary dinner for all attendees, followed by an array of kids-zone activities and Social-Emotional Learning workshops for parents. The night will conclude with a Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) event. We value your input and would love to know your level of interest in attending. - PURPLE UP! T-SHIRTS: April is the Month of the Military Child, and we are taking pre-orders for Purple Up t-shirts. Show your support by pre-ordering today and mark your calendars for the designated day when we encourage all students and staff to wear purple in honor of the resilience and courage of military children.
- FIFTH-GRADE YEARBOOK DEDICATION: Celebrate your 5th-grade student's achievements in the DGF Elementary Yearbook with a personalized dedication. - STEAM EXPO:Â Preparations are in full swing for our 4th annual STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Expo. We're currently seeking presenters who are eager to showcase their original STEAM activities to families at our STEAM Family Night. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. If you're interested in presenting, please contact Ms. Danielle Strutton at danielle.strutton@dodea.edu.
- MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT: If you or your child are feeling stressed, remember that our community's Mental Health Roadmap offers resources and support. Please don't hesitate to reach out for assistance.Â
