Toro Parents,
What a fantastic week we just wrapped up! Our Ribbon Spirit Week and Character Parade were truly a sight to behold. It was heartwarming to see our students come together in such vibrant ways, showcasing their creativity and school spirit. A huge thank you to all of you for your support—these unforgettable moments wouldn’t have been possible without your involvement!
As we look ahead, here are a few important reminders for the upcoming week:
SCHOOL EVENTS
- Early Dismissal on Thursday: This is a reminder that students will be dismissed early from school this Thursday, November 7th, at 10:55 AM due to parent-teacher conferences. Please ensure that child care is arranged in advance.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this week on Thursday and Friday, with scheduled meetings for every student for Quarter 1. Due to the conferences, students will have a half-day of school on Thursday and no school on Friday.
- Flu Vaccine Clinics: Flu vaccines will be available for all students starting October 16th. They can be obtained at the Navy Exchange (NEX) on October 16th and 17th, and at DGF School on November 7th and 8th. For more information, please contact COMM: 956-82-3464 or DSN: 727-3464. Please note that it is mandatory for all students to receive their influenza vaccine (flu shot) annually. Students must receive the vaccine and submit an updated record to the school by December 1, 2024.

SCHOOL & COMMUNITY SUPPORTS
- Lemon Chat:Â Our Military Family Life Counselors are offering small group sessions for students in grades 1-5. The program will run from September 2024 through June 2025. Contact Barbara Angstadt (641-482-865) or Roneiko Henderson (624-262-856) for more information.
- Family Deployment Group:Â Join us for the Family Deployment Support Group hosted by Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC) on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 2:50 PM to 4:00 PM in the DGF Elementary Library. Upcoming meetings will take place on November 21 and December 19, 2024. This is a great opportunity for families to connect and receive support during deployment times. - Feeling Overwhelmed Supporting Your Child's Mental Health?: Join our free, monthly support group! Learn practical strategies, discover helpful resources, and find ways to manage your own stress while supporting your child. The group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 8:15 to 9:30 in the EDIS Building Conference Room. Call 727-4029 to reserve your space.
SCHOOL INFORMATION
- School Attendance: Parents should email rotaes.attendance@dodea.edu to report student absences for the day. Thank you for keeping us informed!
- School Registration Inquiries: Parents seeking assistance or having questions regarding school registration can contact the registrar via email at rotaes.registrar@dodea.edu.
- Yearly & Monthly School Calendars: Stay informed by reviewing the Rota ES annual calendar and this month’s calendar. Parents should be sure to check out the November calendar for upcoming events and activities.
- School Hours: Doors open at 7:50 a.m.; classes start at 8:05 a.m. Late arrivals must be signed in by a parent. Office hours: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily. Contact: 856-82-0220 (off-base) or 682-0220 (DSN). Dismissal: 2:35 p.m. daily, 1:35 p.m. on Wednesdays. Please arrange childcare accordingly.
