Rota Elementary School Brings Education and Halloween Spirit Together at Annual Trunk-or-Treat
The festive atmosphere of Halloween took on a unique educational twist as Rota Elementary School once again participated in the much-anticipated annual trunk-or-treat event hosted by NAVSTA Rota. Rota Elementary School has been an enthusiastic participant for at least 15 years, actively hosting multiple trunks each year to contribute to the spirited celebration.
This year—as in years past—Rota Elementary School added a special touch to the festivities by distributing books to students. This tradition, supported by generous donations from the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), highlights the school’s commitment to promoting literacy and lifelong learning among its students.
Principal Mr. Kirk, who has been a fervent supporter of integrating educational initiatives into community events, shared his thoughts on the longstanding tradition. "Trunk-or-treat provides a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with our community and support our students in a fun and meaningful way,” he stated. “Thanks to the PTSA, each book becomes a gateway to imagination and knowledge, making a lasting impact that goes beyond just candy."
The vibrant scenes of elaborately decorated cars and the excited chatter of children in costumes underscored the event’s success. Parents, students, and community members appreciated the creative trunks and the variety of books available to youngsters, reinforcing both the spirit of Halloween and the school's educational mission.
As the event concluded, the glowing smiles of students carrying books of all genres were a testament to the enduring success of this initiative. Rota Elementary School looks forward to continuing this enriching tradition, proving that even during Halloween festivities, the love for reading can shine bright.
